The Mass Air Flow (MAF).This sensor measures the amount of air entering the engine, allowing the engine control unit (ECU) to calculate the precise fuel amount needed for optimal combustion
A broken mass air flow (MAF) sensor disrupts the engine’s air-fuel mixture, causing rough idle, stalling, sluggish acceleration, and poor fuel efficiency. It forces the computer to guess the fuel amount, leading to, at minimum, a check engine light, and at worst, black exhaust smoke and potential damage to the catalytic converter and engine.
