Engine Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor

is a critical electronic device that monitors the rotational speed and precise position of the camshaft(s) in an internal combustion engine. This data is relayed to the Engine Control Module (ECM) to synchronize the timing of fuel injection and spark plug ignition. code (P0340–P0349)

A broken engine camshaft position (CMP) sensor disrupts fuel injection and ignition timing, causing, at minimum, a check engine light, rough idle, poor acceleration, and stalling. The engine may be hard to start, hesitate, or jerk while driving due to incorrect data being sent to the ECU
